An IT professional in Bengaluru was extorted Rs 8.1 lakh after booking an escort online. The escort pretended to be an undercover police officer and, with an accomplice, threatened the man. They used his credit cards to transfer the money. Police eventually arrested the escort, who was identified through an Aadhaar card.
