Oil Prices Inch Up on Hopes of a U.S. Rate Cut and China Stimulus Measures

Crude oil prices began trade with a gain today as traders turned their attention to U.S. monetary policy and China’s latest move to accelerate growth through stimulus measures. At the time of writing Brent crude was trading at $72.57 per barrel, with West Texas Intermediate changing hands for $68.98 per barrel. The climb followed an announcement from Beijing that it would loosen its monetary policy to fuel economic growth although the lack of details on what this loosening would entail exactly limited oil’s gains. Kalyani Family Dispute: Sugandha Hiremath challenges late mother's wills in court

Sugandha Hiremath, sister of Bharat Forge chairman Baba Kalyani, has challenged her late mother's wills in court. She alleges coercion and undue influence by her brothers, Baba and Gaurishankar Kalyani, who are primary beneficiaries. The disputed estate includes significant holdings in Kalyani Group companies and other assets. Hiremath seeks an equal division of the estate among heirs.

Accused Killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Opposes Extradition to New York

Luigi Mangione, the man suspected of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is challenging his extradition to New York. The 26-year-old, who was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday, appeared at an extradition hearing at the Blair County Courthouse in Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
