'Ridiculous': Doctor charges for surgery after pulling splinter from toddler's hand

When George Lai of Portland, Oregon, took his toddler son to a pediatrician last summer for a checkup, the doctor noticed a little splinter in the child’s palm. “He must have gotten it between the front door and the car,” Lai later recalled, and the child wasn’t complaining. Minister's post does not entitle someone for special consideration for grant of bail: SC

The Supreme Court granted conditional bail to former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee in a money-laundering case. While acknowledging his prolonged incarceration, the court stressed that official positions don't warrant special bail considerations. Chatterjee's release is contingent on charges being framed and key witnesses examined by January 30, 2025, with bail effective February 1, 2025.
