Assad says he wanted to keep fighting but Russians evacuated him

Former Syrian President Bashar Assad revealed he hadn't intended to flee Syria after Damascus fell. He stated he evacuated to a Russian base in Latakia upon Russia's advice following the insurgent takeover. However, after the base was attacked by drones, the Russians relocated him to Russia on the night of December 8th.
