Technology giants are partnering with geothermal start-ups as they seek to power their energy-intensive data centers with clean but reliable power sources. In the first ever December football game at Ohio Stadium, the Buckeyes put away some of its demons from the Michigan loss and defeated Tennessee 42-17 in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced the state is placing dozens of billboards in Central American and Mexican cities to deter potential migrants from making the trek north. Abbott said the messaging on the billboards is a dose of "tough medicine" to hopefully prevent people who might be on their way to the Texas-Mexico border.

Indian Railways will launch two new train services to Kashmir next month. A centrally heated sleeper train will connect New Delhi and Srinagar. An eight-coach Vande Bharat Express will run between Katra and Baramulla. The Vande Bharat will reduce travel time significantly. Passengers can travel from New Delhi to Katra and then connect to Srinagar or Baramulla.

Driven by increased demand for streaming entertainment, tablet sales rebounded in 2024 after a decline in 2023. Consumers are increasingly using tablets for OTT content, leading manufacturers to focus on larger screens and better audio. This renewed consumer interest has also spurred competition among brands.

States will receive interest-free 50-year loans for disaster-related programs, including infrastructure rebuilding and mitigation measures.
