BHU students detained for attempting to burn Manusmriti and clashing with security

On December 25, Lanka police detained 13 Banaras Hindu University students. They attempted to burn Manusmriti and clashed with university staff. Charges include disrupting government work, inciting religious tension, and assault. Two female security officers were injured. The accused students were handed over by university security.

Sachin Tendulkar accepts Honorary Cricket Membership of MCC

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has accepted an honorary membership from the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) in recognition of his significant contributions to cricket. The esteemed MCC announced the honor on Friday. Tendulkar holds the record for most runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Previously, Tendulkar received the Order of Australia in 2012.

RBI allows UPI access for prepaid payment instruments via third-party applications

The Reserve Bank of India has permitted the use of UPI for prepaid payment instruments via third-party applications. This move allows full-KYC PPI holders to make or receive UPI payments through the mobile app of third-party UPI providers. PPI transactions will be authenticated using existing credentials and pre-approved before entering the UPI system.
