DOJ urges Supreme Court to reject Trump request to delay TikTok ban law

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) said in its filing that Trump's request could only be granted if ByteDance had established it was likely to succeed on the merits but the company had not done so. DOJ said no one disputes China "seeks to undermine US interests by amassing sensitive data about Americans and engaging in covert and malign influence operations."

Chinese scientist names spider species after pop songs

BEIJING: A Chinese scientist has named 16 new spider species after songs by popular “Mandopop” musician Jay Chou. Mi Xiaoqi, a professor at Tongren University in China’s southwestern Guizhou province, listed the newly discovered arachnids in a paper published in the academic journal Zoological Research: Diversity and Conservation.
