Ranking the 9 songs from the Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef from best to worst

Well, folks. I think we’re finally done…I think. You never know with this beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

One moment, you’re sitting there minding your business, thinking things are chill. The next moment there’s a new song out from one of these two with a bunch of lyrics to dissect about how the other person is the worst human being on the planet.

It’s been wild. Things have gotten pretty nasty. Plenty has been said that probably can’t (and won’t!) ever be taken back. There’s no putting the toothpaste back in the tube on this one.

That said, the music has been incredible. There’s been plenty of good, lots of great, and some bad to go with it, of course. I figured now is a good time to look at it all. So let’s do it.

Before we do, let me be clear about my criteria:

This is about ranking the songs as diss tracks — not just songs. How good these songs are musically does matter, of course. If a song sounds bad it doesn’t really matter how disrespectful it is. But if it’s disrespectful and it sounds great? That’s a huge bonus.

At the core of everything, though, these songs are meant to attack an opponent. The songs I believe accomplished that the best will be the songs at the top of this ranking.
