I’m a laundry whizz and swear by £1.49 buy to remove stains from clothes – it’s a game-changer for light summer outfits
A MUM has revealed the £1.49 miracle spray she swears by to get stains out of her summer clothes.
Hazel Mckinnie – one half of the Wee Scotty Cleaners – regularly shares tips to get your home sparking on TikTok, where the duo boast 93,000 followers.
In a recent video, the mum of two shared her “summer time hack” for all laundry fans to try.
With the warmer weather rolling in, white and cream clothes start to make more of an appearance in our wardrobes.
But it can often be a nightmare getting stains out of lighter clothing.
And this is exactly what happened to Hazel after wearing a cream boucle blazer to the pub.
Despite shoving it in the washing machine, the bright lipstick stain she smudged all over it wasn’t budging.
The 44-year-old said: “We’re all starting to wear our nice creams and stuff for summer.
“I wore this [blazer] to the pub and me being me got lipstick on it. That is Estee Lauder double wear lipstick.”
Hazel turned to Astonish mould and mildew spray to solve the problem.
The cleaning product, mainly used for scrubbing bathrooms, is currently cheapest in Asda priced at £1.49.
But if you don’t have one nearby, it’s also £1.50 in Iceland and Poundland.
Hazel generously sprayed her blazer with the scented spray before popping it in the washing machine at 40C for an hour..
She gushed: “It’s the best thing ever for stains.
“The lipstick is totally gone. It’s as good as new and it doesn’t cost a fortune, it’s only [about] £1.”
Hazel’s video quickly went viral with almost 100,000 views as laundry fans flocked to the comments.
“100% the best hack, all the mums out there it’s great on white school T-shirts”, said one.
A second echoed: “This stuff is amazing for cleaning your white socks and dish cloths whiter than ever”
A third wrote: “What a good tip, thank you.”
Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: “Best hack ever.”
Hazel was quick to remind cleaning fans that the hack will only work on cream and white products as it contains bleach which would ruin colours.
But some social media users admitted they’ve already wrecked clothes trying it on non-white garments.
One said: “Used it on an expensive hoodie, bleached it, it’s ruined.”
A second sighed: “Only on whites not colours as has bleach, I wasted a top.”
And a third wrote: “Oh no! I tried this and it’s AMAZING on white clothes but the bleach in this stained my favourite cream tshirt (lighter cream where sprayed) and a knit cream dress.”
It’s the best thing ever for stains…and it doesn’t cost a fortune.

It’s not the first time Hazel has used the Astonish cleaning product to salvage a piece of clothing.
We told earlier how she had accidentally left one of her favourite shirts under a damp towel in her laundry bag.
When she returned from a holiday two weeks later, it was covered in black mould spots.
But after spraying it with the mould and mildew blaster and running it through the washing machine, the stains were gone.
Hazel and business partner Claire Jenkins run their own launderette and shop in Moffat, Dumfriesshire, called The Laundry Room.
