Saturday: Preakness Music and Arts Festival

Get ready for the Preakness Stakes and honor the first African American to win the second stop of the Triple Crown races at the third annual George “Spider” Anderson Preakness Musics and Arts Festival. Anderson won the Preakness Stakes in 1889. The free festival will be held at 4801 Park Heights Ave. and features musical performances from Avery Sunshine and Paula Campbell.  Take time to shop at the vendor village with its selection of arts and crafts and food and drink. spiderandersonfest.com

Saturday: Raven Run 5K

Lace up your running shoes and support a good cause at the Raven Run 5K at the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and Hampton National Historic Site, 2400 E. Fort Ave. Proceeds benefit the Athletes Serving Athletes, a non-profit that supports individuals with physical impairments and trains them to participate in mainstream events. Times are 7:30 a.m. for registration, 8:30 a.m. for competitive start, 8:45 a.m. for fun run start and 10 a.m., for awards and presentations. The competitive run costs $35 and fun run costs $25. Saturday: Musical World

Saturday: The Baltimore Basilica Presents: BACH

Enjoy a classical music concert when Samuel F. Rowe directs the Basilica’s Schola Cantorum and Chamber Orchestra performance of the music of J.S. Bach at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 409 Cathedral St. General admission costs $35 and children 13-and-under can attend for free.
