Redditor Aeingers posted the shopping spree to the social media platform.

“Found the estate sale of my dreams today,” they wrote.

The Redditor included photographs of the high-end buys, purchased at a steal.

“I went to an estate sale today that had dozens of brand new Le Creuset and Staub pans,” they added.

“[I] left with two Le Creuset pans, an immersion blender, and a salt and pepper mill set, all for $280.

“One of the pans had the original receipt in the box — it cost $200 in 2019.”

ABOUT LE CREUSET

A home brand has been making waves with cooking fans for its high quality design.

The made-in-France label can sell for hundreds depending on the piece.

The high original price tag, in comparison to the steal the Redditor purchased it for makes it an especially good bargain.

The amount of Le Creuset products purchased made one person wonder of its origins.

“Did this person work for Le Creuset?” another Redditor asked.

“Nope, just a hoarder with a lot of money and good taste in cookware,” the original poster replied.

Several other Redditors weighed in on the estate sale shopping spree in the comment section.

“Wow, what a score,” one wrote.

“Sometimes I look at estate sale pictures in advance and have weird dreams about what’s available.

Why is Le Creuset so expensive?

Le Creuset cookware is on the wishlists of many home cooks and bakers.

But the French brand’s Dutch ovens can cost between $260 and $750, and even a bread loaf pan will set you back $180.

So what warrants such hefty price tags?

Le Creuset’s Dutch ovens are among its most popular items, and they — along with several other pieces of their cookware — are made with high-quality enameled cast iron.

They’re meant to last a long time and even carry a lifetime warranty “to be free from defects in material and workmanship.”

“It’s like, do you really wanna buy a $50 piece of something over and over again, or do you wanna invest in something and know that you’re gonna have it for a long time?” Nate Collier, Le Creuset’s director of marketing and communications, said to Eater.

According to Cookware Insider, 15 quality control officers inspect each of the brand’s items before they’re sold.

Of course, they’re pretty, too, and quite the status symbol.

“You think of it as a simple piece of cookware, but even the silhouette of our Dutch oven is recognizable,” Collier said.

“You could show someone a line drawing without any color, and most people that are familiar with cookware would be able to tell you that it’s specifically a Le Creuset Dutch oven.”

Celebrity fans include Julia Child, Marilyn Monroe, Jennifer Garner, and Taylor Swift.

“This sale is tailor-made for that kind of situation.”

“You are not serious,” another said.

“All of that Le Creuset, I might roll around in everything first, I don’t know.”

“Wow, what an impressive score,” said a third.

“The original owner should have cooked more frequently, seems a shame that they were never previously used.”
