Chocolate milk recalled, sold in the Capital Region

The Department of Agriculture and Markets announced a recall of chocolate milk sold in the Capital Region.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets announced a recall of chocolate milk sold in the Capital Region on Thursday, May 9. The chocolate milk was produced by Meadowbrook Farms Dairy in Clarksville and processed on Wednesday, April 24.

The milk was recalled for improper pasteurization and no illnesses have been reported. Affected products were sold in half-gallon glass containers with a black dot on the cap, signifying the lot code.

Improper pasteurization can cause Listeria and Salmonella because the milk wasn't heated to remove pathogenic bacteria. Consumers can call Charles Van Wie with questions at (518) 768-2451.
