EastEnders star Michelle Collins hits back at fan after savage dig at her age and complaints she ‘needs to go’ from soap

EASTENDERS actress Michelle Collins has hit back at a fan who made a savage quip about her age.

The BBC star did not hold her tongue after seeing the message on social media that took aim at her character Cindy Beale on the BBC soap opera.

The social media exchange came as one fan commented underneath an EastEnders trailer clip of Cindy’s ex-husband George Knight in the boxing ring with his long-lost son, Junior.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of Junior on Albert Square and have already begun to make their predictions as to what he will get up to in Walford.

With Cindy having already shared an illicit kiss with her ex George, one fan thought that she might also go after his son.

Writing on X – formerly Twitter – one fan said: “Cindy is going to have an affair with both George and other George. I bet.”

However, someone else replied with a rather scathing message as they took aim at Cindy’s age and insinuated that she was far too old to ever go there with Junior.

They also raged that she need to be axed from the soap in the excruciating message.

The fan savagely quipped: “How old is Cindy?? Married to Ian?? She needs to go.”

Michelle did not hold back as she fired out a response to the disgruntles soap viewers.

The 61-year-old actress said: “Sorry ???? Go where ??? As one woman to another why bring up age ?”

Despite the scathing comment. Michelle was backed by many of her followers as they raced to support her amid the upsetting tweet.

One proudly said to Michelle: “Cindy needs to stay, I need to see Elaine win George, and then I need to see Cindy’s next adventure! She can’t go anywhere, she too good! What’s age got to do with life adventures!”

As another added: “One of the highlights of last year bringing you back, glad you said yes!!”

Next week on the soap, Cindy will be seen doing her best to intervene as George’s habit of taking part in illegal fights continues to increase.
