The spring games have all come and gone, and the transfer portal has settled as the biggest names in college football head into summer ready to hone their talents in private — social media posts notwithstanding — before returning to campus for training camp in a few months.

What better time than to take stock of the 2024 Heisman Trophy race before it officially opens up.

After LSU’s Jayden Daniels claimed the 2023 Heisman in December, there were two clear favorites to succeed him next winter, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Here’s what the odds looked like on January 22:
