3 million displaced, 18.6 million in need: Myanmar's crisis reaches bleak milestone
YANGON, Myanmar - The number of people displaced by fighting in Myanmar has surpassed 3 million, according to the United Nations, marking a "bleak milestone" for the country.
According to the UN, the number of displaced has increased by 50 percent in the previous six months as fighting between the military and armed groups who are trying to overthrow the generals who took control in a coup in February 2021.
