Sen. Bob Menendez arrives at federal courthouse for start of bribery trial

Sen. Bob Menendez has arrived at a Manhattan courthouse for the start of his trial on charges that he accepted bribes of gold and cash to use his influence to aid three New Jersey businessmen. The 70-year-old Democrat was dropped off at Manhattan federal court with his lawyers at 8:15 a.m. Monday prior to the start of jury selection. He's a defendant with two of the businessmen. A third is cooperating and has agreed to testify at a trial slated to last up to two months. Menendez has pleaded not guilty to charges including bribery, extortion and fraud. His wife is also charged, but her trial has been postponed to July.
