LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Two bridges over the Vermilion River on busy streets in Lafayette will be closed temporarily on Sunday morning, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

Pinhook Road between La Rue France and Marjorie Boulevard will be closed from 6-8:00 a.m. and the Ambassador Caffery Parkway bridge over the Vermilion River will be closed from 8-10 a.m. on Sunday, May 19.

Both closures are necessary to allow crews to perform routine bridge maintenance repairs, weather permitting, DOTD said.

The posted detour of Pinhook Road will consist of Pinhook Road, Kaliste Saloom Road, Evangeline Thruway and University Avenue.
