The Seth MacFarlane hit series is one of eight new and returning scripted series that are being held for midseason premieres, Deadline reports.

Along with Family Guy, other shows being held include Animal Control, The Cleaning Lady and Alert.

The likely reason is that the network is plotting a major midseason rollout using its Super Bowl broadcast as a promotional platform, according to the report.
