‘Virat Kohli Is A Good Player We Learn A Lot From Him’: Mohammad Rizwan After Pakistan Beat Ireland In 2nd T20I

Fakhar was dismissed in the 15th over to provide the hosts with a glimmer of hope, Azam Khan joined the party to hit an unbeaten 30 from just 10 deliveries to guide Pakistan home.

New Delhi: Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan lavished praise on India’s batting great Virat Kohli after Pakistan beat Ireland in the second T20I to level the three-match T20I series. Rizwan was awarded Player of the Match for his stellar performance with the bat. He played the winning unbeaten knock of 75 runs in 46 balls.

While asked about Kohli, Rizwan said that the team learn alot from him and he personally respect him. Both Kohli and Rizwan are the only two batters with a 50+ average in T20Is.

“If you look at the whole match, they played really well. So have to credit them guys. Chasing 194 is not easy as Ireland know the conditions and they gave difficult time early on but we decide to attack and this is why we were successful. You always feel pressure when we lose. I don’t look at my numbers, if you look at the average, you are an average player. If you look at the match situation and the conditions then it’s better. [on him and Kohli being the only two to average 50+ in T20Is] About Kohli, he is a good player and we learnt a lot from him, I respect him” said Rizwan in post match conference.

Babar’s team successfully chased down Ireland’s good total of 193/7 with more than three overs remaining, thanks to a 140-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan (75*) and Fakhar Zaman (78), giving Pakistan’s powerful skipper a record-breaking 45th T20I triumph.

Although among the top playing nations, Babar is five victories ahead of second-placed Aaron Finch (40) and have eclipsed Uganda’s skipper Brian Masaba (44) for the most wins by a captain in all men’s T20Is.

Fakhar demonstrated his power-hitting abilities by smashing six sixes, while a steadier Rizwan handled the support position admirably as the pair put up 140 in rapid succession to take the game away from Ireland.

While Fakhar was dismissed in the 15th over to provide the hosts with a glimmer of hope, Azam Khan joined the party to hit an unbeaten 30 from just 10 deliveries to guide Pakistan home.

Meanwhile, the third and final game of the three-match series will be played in Dublin on Tuesday.
