The Taliban embassy in Doha announced on Monday that Qatar has sent a rescue team and a humanitarian aid package consisting of 22 tons of food, medical supplies, and tents to the flood-affected people of Baghlan.

The embassy added that Qatar will send more aid in the coming days.

The Taliban embassy announced on Monday, May 13, that Qatar’s first aid shipment had arrived at Mazar-i-Sharif airport, Northern Province of Balkh.

According to the reports, Qatar’s representative during the shipment’s delivery said that Doha is committed to sending more humanitarian aid to the flood victims in Afghanistan.

The devastating floods in various provinces of Afghanistan have resulted in significant loss of life and property.

The Taliban Ministry of Migrants Affairs announced yesterday that so far, 315 people have lost their lives and 1,630 have been injured only in central districts and the Barka of Baghlan province.

Afghanistan experiences recurring disasters, including flash flooding, which exacerbates the country’s already dire humanitarian situation.
