Don’t be fooled – Labour have never lifted a finger to help stand up for those who have served our country
AS we approach a General Election you will hear more and more from previously disinterested political leaders, like Sir Keir Starmer, on supporting our veterans and defence more broadly.
Why? Because if they don’t believe in anything at all, these are emotional topics that can make them appear as if they care when, in reality, they’ve never lifted a finger to help stand up for those who serve.
Don’t be fooled.
My military service was under a Labour Government.
British servicemen and women lost their lives because of the Labour Government’s appalling lack of preparation for war.
Starmer will try to convince you they were only kidding in trying to make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister.
Essential body armour was shared among tank crews because there was not enough to go around; the rifles didn’t work in sand; and we were sent out to fight in vehicles that gave us scant protection against enemy attack.
A vote for Labour on defence or veterans is not serious.
Starmer will try to convince you they were only kidding in trying to make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister.
Don’t be fooled. It’s not a game.
