All the Stars at Gucci’s Cruise Show
Following a busy week with the Met Gala and countless after-parties, very few brands have the pull to get all the stars and fashion folks across the pond to London. But most brands are not Gucci. Designer Sabato de Sarno’s highly anticipated cruise show was presented today in London, and while it’s not uncommon for a show to take its attendees to various locales — Seoul, Marrakech, Ibiza, Paris, Monaco — London, the Tate Modern to be specific, is far from the usual vacation destinations.
This is de Sarno’s fourth showing and first cruise show. His very first collection, spring 2024, included hoodies, oversize leather jackets, loafers, and lots of … hot pants. At the time, it was a grand departure from the Gucci of Alessandro Michele, known for his colorful prints and mixed-up looks. The collection shown in London was more demure and featured oversize jeans and suede blazers and even debuted a new flat. At the end of the show, a parade of evening dresses under leather jackets was shown in pastel colors.
But the front row seemed to be the main attraction, with guests all decked out in Gucci: heartthrob Andrew Scott in a plunging burgundy top, icon Debbie Harry in a suit and platform shoes, supermodel Kate Moss in an all-black look and sheer tights (with her daughter, Lila Moss, in a buttery yellow look), and icon Solange Knowles wearing a see-through outfit and Wellies. Even Dua Lipa showed up with her sister, wearing hot pants and sheer tights. Chic! Here’s who was in attendance.
