Spurs insider names five strikers under consideration to become club’s new number nine
Tottenham Hotspur are currently assessing a number of potential options ahead of the summer transfer window to become the club’s new ‘number nine’ next season, according to insider Paul O’Keefe.
The North Londoners have certainly missed the presence of Harry Kane leading the frontline following his departure to Bayern Munich last August.
Club captain Heung-min Son has predominantly been operating as the central figure, however, he has looked more at one on his familiar left-hand side on many occasions.
O’Keefe has taken to X to reveal that Tottenham are currently keeping tabs on at least five strikers.
Tottenham have list of options in search for striker this summer
The list includes Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, RB Leipzig frontman Loïs Openda and Sporting CP talisman Viktor Gyökeres.
O’Keefe wrote: “As Spurs look for a number 9 for next season among those under consideration are Gimenez, Toney, Guirassy, Openda and Gyokeres.”

There is no doubt that Tottenham need a new striker who can lead the line with Richarlison having struggled with consistency, partly due to his injury issues.
Son is much more comfortable playing on the left and the club needs to ensure that they bring in a forward who can contribute at least 15 goals a season.
