WORTH ITS WEIGHT

Redditor Buttercupsmom24 was still in disbelief over the gold and diamond bracelet she snagged at the secondhand store.

“Got this beautiful bracelet at a thrift for $15, took it to a jeweler today,” she said.

“He said it tested at 14-karat gold and the diamonds are real,” she continued.

“Valued at a minimum of $500.”

That was one shiny score.

“They did test as diamonds! I feel so lucky to have found this. I’ve never owned jewelry worth this much!” she said.

The buy featured round diamonds in between gold bars with a clasp in the back.

SHINY SCORE

Many people were floored by the find.

“Bonus – it’s pretty!” wrote one Reddit user.

“The best part of all!” she replied.

“I love the classic lines that are slightly vintage, but also because of that, it makes it timeless,” said another Redditor.

“You can tell just by the closure alone that this is well-made. It’s beautiful. Love the design. Delicate, without being fussy. Great find!” said one user.

TO KEEP OR CASH OUT

Yet others had questions about the diamond discovery.

“Lovely! I really like the design – classic lines but not boring. Did the thrift store know it was gold?” wrote one user.

“I can’t imagine that they could have, the jeweler had to magnify the marking to get a read on what it was,” she responded.

“I have the same bracelet with the same exact clasp. It’s a nice piece my grandmother gave me. Will you be saving it for yourself or selling it?” asked another reader.

“I think keeping it for myself!” she confirmed.

Some platform users even had recommendations of their own.

“Add a safety chain,” wrote one Redditor.

MORE STEALS

Another lucky shopper shared her own find on Reddit.

The thrifter, who snagged a solid gold necklace for $70, found out it was worth $800.

Her online buy was actually an antique Victorian watch chain.

“The stone in the pendant is a diamond, and the metal was sold as unmarked and untested,” she said.
