Unbeetable in Schenectady to host 'Mario Kart' tournament

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The arcade bar and restaurant Unbeetable in Schenectady will be hosting a bracket-style "Mario Kart" tournament with cash prizes. The event is scheduled for May 18 at noon.

The tournament will host 64 players, with sign-up being "first come, first serve" style on the day of the event. The competition will be played using the original Nintendo 64 version of "Mario Kart."

The winner of six matches across the bracket will be crowned as the champion. While dodging shells and traversing the perils of Rainbow Road, players can dig into Unbeetable's extensive menu of meals and bar food classics, as well their assortment of video game-themed cocktails and mocktails.

The event has no entry fee, and the tournament is open to all ages. The winning payouts are detailed below:

  • Fourth Place: $250

Unbeetable is located at 148 Clinton Street. The event is presented by the Knowhere Collaborative in honor of the three-year anniversary of the launch of the Take Two Café.
