Two seriously injured in southwest Columbus crash where one car caught fire

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is in serious condition and another is critically injured after a two-car crash Tuesday afternoon in southwest Columbus.

A police dispatcher said that the crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Highland Avenue and West Mound Street in the South Central Hilltop area. Columbus fire chief Jeffrey Geitter said that two cars collided and that one caught on fire.

One person had to be pulled out from the burning car and was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. A pedestrian was also injured in the crash and was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in serious condition, per Columbus fire chief Geitter.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.
