Renaissance Festival returns to the Capital District

Huzzah! The annual New York Capital District Renaissance Festival will be returning to Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont this summer.

ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Huzzah! The annual New York Capital District Renaissance Festival will be returning to Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont this summer. The event is scheduled for June 8 and 9.

Patrons will be whisked away to another land as the fairground is filled with the sights and sounds of the olden days. Celebrating its 10th year, the festival will feature sword fighting acts, music and skill performances, and the yearly Royal Joust.

The event will showcase over 60 artisans offering crafts ranging from weaponry and Renaissance clothing to jewelry and pottery. Attendees will also be able to enjoy a bevy of food and drink options, including a cider and craft beer pub crawl.

The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Dogs are allowed at the festival, but are prohibited in the dining and agriculture areas, as well as near the performance animals.
