Sproat pitched five scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and walking two, striking out six over the course of 82 pitches thrown (52 for strikes). Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online also noted that his fastball was up to 99 mph, and Sproat generated 11 whiffs during the outing.

Coming into his Double-A debut on Wednesday, Sproat had an ERA of 1.07, and he lowered that to 0.89 to begin his pro career.

According to MLB.com, Sproat is the Mets’ No. 13 prospect and is No. 15 on our list. The Mets drafted Sproat in the third round of the 2022 daft but could not sign him and tried again with a second-round pick last year.

Sproat is on track to work his way quickly through the Mets organization and his Double-A debut on Wednesday gave another to keep an eye on the 23-year old from Pensacola, FL.
