Report: Spurs do not want to cash in on 22-year-old despite Serie A interest

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Radu Dragusin this summer, even though some reports over the last few weeks have talked up the possibility of an early exit from Spurs for the centre-back.

Dragusin has struggled to get much game time at Spurs since arriving from Genoa in January and there have been some murmurs of discontent from the player’s camp recently.

Last week, Radu Dragusin’s agent Florian Manea admitted that the centre-back will have to think about potentially leaving Tottenham if he continues to be a bit-part player next season (CalcioNapoli24).

The Sun claimed a couple of days ago that Napoli were interested in the Romanian but asserted that Tottenham would only sell the defender for £40m despite signing him for just £21.5m in January.

Spurs have no plans to offload Dragusin

However, Football Insider have now stated that Spurs are not considering cashing in on Dragusin despite his lack of starts over the last few months.

The report says that there is no knee-jerk reaction at Hotspur Way to the 22-year-old’s slow start to life in London, with the club planning on keeping him.

The publication adds that the expectation at Spurs is that Dragusin will get more chances to play next season and many at the club believe that we might see the best of the defender in the 2024-25 campaign.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dragusin was excellent against Manchester City, with the centre-back being extremely solid defensively, strong in duals and also showcasing his ability on the ball.

One would expect Postecogluo to take the cup competitions and the Europa League seriously next season and Dragusin will certainly get his chances to impress the Australian.
