Houston-based Shipley Do-Nuts is planning to add more shops across Texas, including in the Austin area.

AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) -- Houston-based Shipley Do-Nuts is planning to add more shops across Texas, including in the Austin area.

The company has hired Jonathan Massey as vice president of sales and Fred Frey as director of franchise recruitment, Shipley announced May 8. Massey previously served as director of franchise development at Addison, Texas-based Wingstop Inc. (Nasdaq: WING). Meanwhile, Frey joins Shipley from Midland, Texas-based HTeaO, where he served as franchise development manager.

“Our goal is to be substantially faster than the industry standard 12-month timeline from signing to cash registers ringing,” Keith Sizemore, senior vice president of franchise development, said in an announcement. “We have a robust development pipeline, and we want to help our franchisees get their shops open faster so they can quickly realize the power and potential of our growing brand.”

According to KXAN's media partners at the Austin Business Journal, Shipley signed 14 deals for 61 new locations planned for Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and Lubbock. No opening dates are confirmed yet.
