Heating up for the weekend, storm chances loom by next week
What We’re Tracking
- More clearing tonight
- Sunny, warm Friday
- Getting hot this weekend
We expect it to become clear to partly cloudy for most areas tonight as temperatures fall into the middle to upper 50s by early Friday morning. A few patches of low clouds or fog in the early hours of Friday morning is possible, but not expecting it to be widespread.
We get mostly sunny weather from Friday through at least Sunday with highs in the lower 80s for Friday afternoon. The wind will remain light, so expect it to start feeling a bit warmer.
In fact, highs in the middle to upper 80s by the upcoming weekend with wind becoming more southerly and picking up a bit over the weekend, as well. This will gradually draw up higher humidity into the area making the heat index reach the lower 90s and that will set the stage for some stronger storms early next week. Both late Sunday and late Monday carry the risk of stronger storms if the pattern holds.
