School bus crashes into fence in Greenwich
GREENWICH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department are investigating a school bus crash that happened in Greenwich on Thursday morning. Multiple students and the driver of the bus sustained minor injuries, according to the Greenwich Central School District.
Police say that the school bus collided with a fence around 8 a.m. on Eddy Street. Greenwich CSD Superintendent Jennifer Steimle issued a statement on the incident, confirming that 20 students across multiple grade levels were on board.
The superintendent stated that two students and the bus driver were taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical evaluation, and two students also went with their parents to be evaluated. Those that were taken to the hospital have since been released, Steimle said.
CGPD was assisted on the scene by the Greenwich Fire Department, Greenwich EMS, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and multiple school officials. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
