CT juvenile on bicycle hospitalized after being struck by car

A minor on a bicycle was hit by a car in New London on Thursday afternoon and taken to the hospital.

The crash was reported just after 3 p.m. in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Ashcraft Road where emergency crews responded to the report of a car versus bicycle, according to the New London Police Department.

The juvenile involved suffered what police said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

According to police, the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative.

The New London Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate.

The crash remains under investigation.
