Dog found tied to fence and abandoned outside CT farm

Authorities are looking for whoever is responsible for leaving a dog tied up and abandoned in Southbury.

The dog, a female German Shepherd, was found shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Willow Creek Horse Farm, according to the Southbury Police Department.

The animal was found tied to a fence at the entrance of the farm, police said.

Police and Southbury Animal Control are investigating and are looking for information on the vehicle that they believe was used when the dog was abandoned. They released a photo of the vehicle, a dark SUV, and are asking for members of the public come forward with information.

The vehicle appears to possibly be an early to mid 2000’s Chevy Tahoe, police said.
