Sky News viewers open-mouthed as staff member in background of shot deals with ‘major drama’ live on air
PEOPLE watching Sky News at home were left in hysterics after spotting a staff member having a dramatic background live on air.
Jayne Secker was midway through delivering a briefing about a waterborne disease in South West England when viewers noticed something going on in the background.
The presenter informed Brits that private utility company South West Water have asked everyone living in the area to boil their water before drinking it.
However, audience members were distracted by someone else in the Sky News office who was gesticulating wildly in the office behind Jayne.
The woman appeared to be annoyed as she wagged a finger at a co-worker, stopping to grimace when another colleague walked past her.
It was unclear what she was saying, but looked frustrated as she waved her hands in the air and shook her head before striding quickly off screen.
Someone picked up on the moment and took to social media to joke about it, asking: “Ok but what gossip has the girl in blue got in the background?”
Several viewers flocked to the comments with suggestions of what she could have been annoyed about.
One mused: “I think it’s something to do with the other lady in blue that walks past given the face she pulls when she does so.”
A second joked: “She’s probably getting angry about the state of the coffee room, unwashed cups and don’t get her started on what that mould is in the fridge! … we’ve all been there!”
Another chimed in: “She knows who’s been stealing her tub of Lurpak from the staff fridge.”
One person fancied themselves a lip reader, sharing: “She said something like ‘you do realise we have had this story for months and we’re still not allowed to run it’. Then a grimace, then ‘We should just run it anyway’, then she said ‘I’m joking’ and walked away.”
