1 person shot at northeast Austin apartment complex overnight

One person was shot after reports of gunfire at an apartment complex in northeast Austin early Friday morning, police said.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was shot after reports of gunfire at an apartment complex in northeast Austin early Friday morning, police said.

The Austin Police Department said the incident happened at the Alta Blue Goose apartment complex, located near East U.S. 290, around 2:20 a.m.

APD said witnesses drove one victim to a nearby restaurant. Officers arrived at the restaurant and found the victim with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police. APD is still investigating, and no suspect has been identified yet.
