Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya Likely to be RELEASED by Mumbai Indians After IPL 2024?

Mumbai: In what can be labelled as a stunning prediction, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag reckons that both Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma will be released by the Mumbai Indians after IPL 2024. This is a stunning remark because up until now the rumours were that Rohit would be released, but Sehwag feels otherwise. As per Sehwag, too many stars cannot guarantee a hit. The ex-India opener used examples of film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

“Tell me something. Having Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan in one film won’t guarantee a hit. Will it? You will have to perform, right? You need a good script. Similarly, all these big names will have to come together and perform on the ground. Rohit Sharma scored one century and MI lost. Where are the rest of the performances?” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.

“Ishan Kishan played the entire season and he couldn’t last beyond the Powerplay. Only two names are certainties at this stage for MI – Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. They will be the top two names retained. And if it then boils down to the third or 4th option, we will see,” he added.

Meanwhile, MI, who are already eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs, take on the Super Giants in their last game of the season at Wankhede.

Fans reckon this is the final time they will get to see Rohit in an MI jersey. MI would like to finish the season with a win in front of their fans at the Wankhede tonight.
