Report confirms Tottenham have a Kyle Walker-Peters buy-back clause

HITC have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have a £30m buy-back clause for Kyle Walker-Peters but the North London club want to sign the right-back for an even lower fee.

The possibility of Walker-Peters returning to Spurs was first floated earlier this month by talkSPORT, who revealed that the Lilywhites are looking into the prospect of re-signing their academy graduate.

The outlet claimed that the 27-year-old fits the profile of attack-minded full-back that Postecoglou wants to add to his squad and that Southampton would be forced to sell him if they do not win promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

Tottenham could complete cut-price Walker-Peters deal

HITC have now also backed up Spurs’ interest in Walker-Peters, revealing that Postecoglou wants to sign a player with similar attributes to Pedro Porro and Desinty Udogie, and has now set his sights on the Saints star.

The outlet states that the North London club plans to offload Emerson Royal and wish to replace the Brazilian with the England international.

The report claims that Walker-Peters would be open to the chance to leave Southampton this summer after four years at St Mary’s.

The publication adds that Spurs attached a £30m buy-back clause when they sold the right-back to Southampton in 2020 but since the player has just a year left on his deal, the Lilywhites believe they can sign him for closer to £20m.

Walker-Peters would be an outstanding signing for Spurs. Not only is he likely to be inexpensive but he is also homegrown and versatile enough to operate in either flank. He will be a terrific fit for Ange’s system but one would expect a few Premier League clubs to vie for the Saints star’s signature.
