The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations announced the return of nearly a thousand Afghan migrants and the release of 12 prisoners from Pakistani prisons.

The ministry stated on Saturday, May 18th, in a newsletter, that 954 Afghan migrants returned to the country after being deported by Pakistan.

According to the newsletter, the migrants returned to the country on May 17 and 18 via the Spin Boldak and Torkham borders of Nangarhar province.

Additionally, the ministry added that 12 Afghan nationals imprisoned in Pakistan were released on Friday, May 17th and returned to the country.

It is worth mentioning that the mentioned migrants were imprisoned for 11 days due to the lack of legal documents for residence in that country.

Afghan migrants are being expelled from Iran and Pakistan at a time when the expulsion of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, especially Iran and Pakistan, has seen a significant increase in recent months.
