Sheriff's Office investigating overnight homicide in northwest Austin

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after deputies found a man with gunshot wounds in northwest Austin early Monday morning.

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Travis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after deputies found a man with gunshot wounds in northwest Austin early Monday morning.

TCSO deputies responded shortly before 4 a.m. to a check welfare call in the 13000 block of Amarillo Avenue, where they found a man with gunshot wounds lying unresponsive in the street.

That area is near the intersection of West Parmer Lane and McNeil Drive.

Deputies began CPR until Austin-Travis County EMS arrived and started life-saving measures. The man was ultimately pronounced dead on the scene.

TCSO said a full investigation is underway, and there are no suspects in custody at this time. The sheriff's office said detectives are working to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
