The house, dubbed Pavello, features its own sauna, plant room, gym and pool, having featured on a Grand Designs episode back in September 2015.

Located on Forest Road, the home boasts five bathrooms and claims 5,500 square feet of modern living.

The design of the property was inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion, characterised by its modernist architecture, sleek lines, and innovative use of materials.

Four of the five bedrooms come with direct access to the pool.

You’ll also find a TV room and five acres of garden and woodland.

The house was made from glass, steel, porcelain and granite, laid on 196 feet of concrete.

It’s also equipped with underfloor heating throughout.

The double garage area opens directly into the large utility room, making it ideal for unloading the car, and dumping boots and coats.

It hits the market years after TV presenter Kevin McCloud questioned its plans.

The buyer could be breaking the bank on a building that looks more like a museum than a home, if McCloud’s former comments about its design are anything to go by.

At the time, McCloud said: “It’s going to look unlike a house, isn’t it?

“The scale, the length of it, the sleekness of it.

“It’s going to resemble more closely a museum or public building, you know?”

At the time of airing, it was hailed as the largest house ever showcased on the program, adding to its allure and prestige.

The property is listed by Jo Parker of Fine and Country Park Lane, who has described the home as ideally located.

The listing says: “Pavello is a short distance from Horsham with an out-of-town John Lewis and Waitrose, a pretty market square that hosts a market on Thursdays and Saturdays, a large selection of lovely restaurants and shops and even an everyman cinema.

“With easy access to the M23 (only three miles), Brighton and London, plus Gatwick airport and a choice of good schools, both state and private, in the area, it is perfectly placed.”

When McCloud eventually saw the finished product, it appeared his concern was replaced with awe.

He said: “I’m slightly awestruck by this. More than slightly awestruck … modernist architecture at the top of its game.”
