Four free Android features coming to phones including major battery boost with three extra hours

GOOGLE has officially revealed some of the free upgrades Android fans can expect in a matter of months.

The firm is going big on AI this year and Android is no exception.

Here are four of the biggest changes you can expect.

Scam call detection

It’s getting harder to spot a scam call especially with AI voice clone bots attempting to steal people’s money.

But Google is upping the AI game with a brand new tool that picks up on key signs of fraud calls and alerts you.

It does this by listening out for language and conversation patterns.

And all the detection work is done on-device, so you don’t need to worry about private chats being spied on from afar.

Circle to Search more

Circle to Search was only unveiled this year but there are upgrades on the way.

The feature currently works by allowing users to draw a circle around anything they see on screen which is instantly searched for online, for example, a plant you want to find in the background of a video.

From today it can help kids with their homework – and it’ll be able to solve more complicated formulas soon.

“When students circle a prompt they’re stuck on, they’ll get step-by-step instructions to solve a range of physics and math word problems without leaving their digital info sheet or syllabus,” Google says.

“Later this year, Circle to Search will be able to help solve even more complex problems involving symbolic formulas, diagrams, graphs and more.”

Private space

Android’s new Private Space is primarily designed to stop phone thieves from raiding your accounts.

But it can be used for any app, including the ones you don’t want anyone to know about.

These apps are hidden in a separate space within your home screen away from prying eyes.

Battery boost

Everyone loves to make their battery last as long as possible.

So news that Android 15 could boost life by up to three hours is welcome news.

According to Android Authority, devices running Android 15 will be able to switch to the low-power doze mode around at 50 per cent faster than before.
