EVENT Highlights - May 11, 2024
Late Models
Schaun Scheel. Lake Mills, won the Jefferson Concrete 50 lap late model feature. Scheel who started on the out side of the front row, worked his way past Mark Deporter, Fort Atkinson and into the lead by the third lap. Scheel held of repeated challenges from Lucas Westenberg, Jefferson to win the Season opener, front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.
Mark Deporter and Schaun Scheel led the field to the green flag with Scheel taking command on the second lap. Westenberg passed Deporter a lap later and began to challenge Scheel for the lead. The duo diced for the next dozen laps while intense battles for position were being waged throughout the field. While battling for fifth, Dylan Schuyler, Dousman, Stephen Scheel, lake Mills, and Dale Nottestad, Cambridge became entangled and collided on the front straight and slid to a stop in turn one. Ryan Weyer, Mequon, Cody Houseweart, Loves Park IL.,were unable to avoid the stalled cars making the calamity a five car wreck. Only Schuyler, and Scheel were able to continue the race.
With the restart, The Stephen Scheel, Westenberg battle continued with Karter Stark, Marshall and Chris Chenoweth, Watertown battling for third and fourth. Scheel continued to hold off a tenacious attempt by Westenberg to unseat the leader. Numerous times Westenberg appeared to have won the battle only for Scheel to pull back ahead.
At the finish Scheel won by less than a car length, with Westenberg forced to settle for second. Chenoweth beat Stark to the line for third, Stark finished fourth, with Kyle Smith, lake Mills, fifth, and Shane Radtke, Johnson Creek, Sixth.
Schaun Scheel #8 Late Model Feature Winner
Sportsman
Nick Bruley, Johnson Creek won the 35 lap sportsman feature winning spirited battle with Kyle Chwala, Watertown and Mathew Thoma, Jefferson. Thoma beat Chwala to the line for second whith Chwala third. Robert Hansberry, Brodhead, finished fourth with Mike Lamdert, Watertown fifth.
Nick Bruley #23 Sportsman Feature Winner
International
Devon Dixon, Afton won the International class 20 lap feature. Jason Uttech, Watertown had the race well in hand until a caution with three laps remaining caused his lead to evaporate. On the restart Uttech and Blake Nottestad came together sending both to the rear of the pack. Mark English inherited the lead but was unable to hold off the surging Dixon. Weston Strese, Watertown was second, Mark English, Janesville, third, Timothy Higgins, Bonduel, fourth, and Mark Dewey, Janesville fifth.

Atron Brockhouse, Shakopee, MN won the 20 lap Legend feature battling Lincoln Cain, Slinger and Andre Brontreger, Elroy, for most of the race. Cain finished with Brontreger third and Jacob Stark, fourth, and Jake Baker, Eagan, MN, fifth
Ayrton Brockhouse #12 Legends Feature Winner
Bandoleros
Ace Oldenhoff, Lake Mills won a thrilling Bandolero Feature nipping Bently Thompson, West Salem at the line by less than a foot. Teegan Wangsness, Jefferson was third, Axle Oldenhoff, Lake mills was fourth, and Mason Obermeyer, Union Grove, fifth.
