'I want to play for': 23yo Senegalese striker eyeing move to Man Utd in future

RS Berkane forward Paul Bassene has revealed his ambition of playing in Europe with Manchester United.

The 23-year-old currently plays for Berkane in the Moroccan top-flight where he has registered five goals and one assist from 22 appearances this season.

The Senegalese ace is predominantly a centre-forward, but he can also operate from the right wing.

Speaking to Wiwsport via Senego, Bassene spoke about his targets for the season and added that United are the European club he wants to play for in the future.

He said: “First of all, we’ll be aiming to finish third in the league and win the CAF Cup.”

“I also want to add more goals to my career. Manchester United is the European club I want to play for in the future.”

United are likely to make multiple changes to their squad this summer following a disappointing Premier League season where they finished eighth in the table.

A right winger could be a priority with Antony underperforming while Jadon Sancho has fallen out-of-favour. The latter could be sold during the summer.

The club could also pursue a new centre-forward with Anthony Martial set to leave on a free transfer.

Bassene has spoken about his dream of playing for the Red Devils, but he still has a long way to progress before he can persuade United into making an offer.

The club are likely to pursue readymade goalscoring options. Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise could be the prime target to bolster the right wing department.

The United hierarchy could consider a fresh move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, having previously failed to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022.
