HITC and Graeme Bailey report that Tottenham are ready to make an immediate bid for their top midfield summer target, Conor Gallagher, now that the Premier League season is over.

The report claims that Gallagher has still not received a new contract offer from Chelsea and his representatives are finally accepting the fact he may have to transfer away this summer.

The Blues are unlikely to stand in Gallagher’s way because his homegrown status means they will be able to claim ‘pure profit’ from any sale.

Football Insider reported recently that Gallagher is not keen on the idea of joining Newcastle United this summer because he would rather remain in London. As such, Tottenham are said to remain in the driving seat if a transfer does take place.

Tottenham want to make a fast move for Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher will likely have a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships this summer, meaning a busy couple of months ahead for the midfielder.

However, it is said that Tottenham want to make a bid for their top midfield target as soon as the campaign is over, with just one more post-season friendly to play against Newcastle this week.

If Tottenham really do want Gallagher then a fast move suits all parties. Get the transfer done before the Euros, Tottenham get their man, Gallagher isn’t distracted, and Chelsea get their pure profit. I do still wonder whether the Blues will actually deal with Spurs and Daniel Levy though.
