Troy Police makes arrest in shots fired incident

The Troy Police Department says it arrested a Troy teen in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred on Wednesday.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Troy Police Department says it arrested a Troy teen in connection with an incident that occurred on Wednesday. Deveon Gordon, 18, is accused of being behind the shots fired near Glen Avenue between River Street and Sixth Avenue.

Charges

  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

Police report responding to the reports of shots fired in the area where they found no victims injured. While at the scene, police say they had reason to believe the suspected shooter went to a house in the area, which they later obtained a search warrant for.

The search warrant was executed at the home on Glen Avenue after 10 p.m. that night. Gordon was taken into custody shortly after.

Gordon was arraigned and then placed in Rensselaer County Jail but has since posted bail and been released. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police ask anyone with information to reach out to the Troy Police Detectives at (518) 270-4421.
