MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace forced to check-in on contestant as she breaks down in tears as judge’s make brutal remark

A MASTERCHEF contestant was left breaking down into tears during the show’s final week as she made an error with one of her dishes.

Louise was among the four hopefuls who were jetted out to Singapore for the show’s final week of the BBC contest.

The cooking hopeful has put in an impressive stint on the show so far but the cracks appeared to be forming as she headed into the final round.

Louise and her co-stars could be seen prepping dishes in a restaurant in a bid to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace as well as a panel of judges.

However, it became quite clear that Louise was feeling the heat of the kitchen.

As she attempted to prep her dish within the allocated time, she was left calling on her co-stars for help in “frying her puri” as she realised she was running out of time.

Dashing around the kitchen, Gregg quipped to the star: “Louise, do you know that you’ve got to be gone in five minutes?”

Appearing to get emotional, she snapped back: “Yeah! I’m stressed!”

She later said of her Scallops-based dish: “I want time to make it look beautiful, and I’ve run out of time to make it look pretty.”

With time up, her dish was sent out for service and Louise instantly crumbled and broke down in tears.

Noting her fragile state, Gregg was quick to check-in on the prospective chef as he asked: “Are you alright?”

Sobbing, she furiously weeped: “It is not going the way I wanted it to!

“I’m not having a tantrum, I’m just sad.”

Wiping away tears, she said: “I can cook better than this – I’ve put my heart and soul into this competition.”

Despite her tears, some of the judges admitted there was a “nice heat” to her dish as they praised certain aspects of her cookery.

John and Gregg equally were impressed with some elements of her dish but when picking up her seemingly wet and wilted vegetables, John could not help but be less than complimentary.

He said: “The vegetables just haven’t worked, it is really disappointing.”

With Gregg in agreement, it remains to be seen how Louise will fare in the next episode.

The cook will have another chance to shine later this week as they prepare meals for the ‘top table’.
