Congrats to Pilaf on her festival red-carpet debut.

You might not be able to swing a trip to Europe this summer, but Demi Moore’s Chihuahua, Pilaf, sure can. For the past few days, Pilaf has been hanging out in the French Riviera, where she made her Cannes Film Festival red-carpet debut on Sunday.

Pilaf first joined Moore for the photocall for the actress’s new film, The Substance, a story about an older actress who tries a medical treatment that promises youth after she’s fired from her job. Her younger self, played by Margaret Qualley, appears and the two co-exist, spending one week in one body and the other week in another, per Variety.

Pilaf returned to the red carpet on Monday, affixed to Moore’s arm, for the premiere of the film, which is getting rave reviews. Pilaf, a gift to Moore from one of her daughters, joined the Moore household in early 2022. Since then, she’s been to Milan Fashion Week, seen Rafael Nadal break his own record at the French Open, and been a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

I have a feeling that even after the 13-minute-long standing ovation The Substance got at Cannes, Moore would stand by what she told Colbert — that Pilaf is “the real star.”
