CSUN seniors adorned their grad caps with glitter, flowers, jokes and artful displays of pride and joy.

Over the last week about 10,900 CSUN students had the opportunity to attend commencement ceremonies and many chose to do so wearing personalized graduation caps decorated with sentimental, inspirational and often humorous messages.

Decorating graduation caps is a tradition at many universities and one that CSUN’s students embraced wholeheartedly when it came time to commemorate their remarkable accomplishments in college.

More than 70% of CSUN students are the first in their families to attend university, so they were quite literally making history as they walked across the graduation stage in Northridge and received their diplomas.

This year’s caps included messages thanking family members for their support, expressing career goals and optimism for the next chapter of life.
