Asda axes popular tea-time staple from shelves as it confirms item has been discontinued and shoppers are gutted
ASDA shoppers have been left gutted after finding out the retailer has discontinued a fan favourite item.
The retailer has confirmed it has axed the savoury dish in a blow for food lovers.
The chain has stopped selling 300g packs of garlic and herb tortelloni which let customers rustle up a quick dinner in just minutes.
The bolognese tortelloni is still available for shoppers to buy.
We have asked Asda when the garlic and herb tortelloni was discontinued and will update this story when we know more.
Shoppers have already started realising the Italian dish has been axed from shelves though – and they’re gutted.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, one said: “Have you discontinued the garlic and herb tortelloni pasta?
“I can’t find it anywhere and it’s causing me a large amount of distress.”
Others will no doubt be left stunned by the news, with one on X previously saying: “I wish I could eat Asda’s garlic and herb tortellini with tomato and mascarpone sauce for every meal.”
It’s not the first time in recent months a product being axed from shelves has left shoppers in bits.
Earlier this week, Walkers confirmed it had axed fan favourite flavour Spicy Mixups.
Posting on X, one shopper said: “Why is there a national shortage of Walkers Spicy Mixups!?!”
Another added: “What has happened to the Spicy Mixups. Can’t get them anywhere??”
Heinz fans were recently left gutted after finding out Five Beans snap pots had been axed too.
Tesco fans were left frustrated earlier this month after the retailer discontinued its Finest salted caramel cream liqueur.
It’s not just retailers dropping items to fan disappointment either.
McDonald’s customers have been left calling for a “game changer” menu item to be made permanent as the fast food chain gears up to axe it.
It comes after Asda opened dozens of stores earlier this year in a boost for the high street.
The retailer plans to have opened 356 new locations in total by 2026.
